Scarlett Johansson is an American actor and performer who was born in New york city in the United States on November 22 the 22nd of November, 1984. Her performances have earned the attention of a broad variety of genres, including period dramas, thrillers and action adventures. Johansson was born in New York City, and lived there with her producer father and architect mother. Her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. She began to develop an interest for acting at an early age. She began to audition for commercials around age seven. After that, she was enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute and later was a student at the Professional Children's School in Manhattan to further hone her craft. She made her debut as a film actress in North (1994) around the age of nine. When she was eight years old, she appeared alongside Ethan Hawke on Off-Broadway in Sophistry. Johansson subsequently appeared on screen in Just Cause (1995) but her debut came in Manny & Lo (1996) an upcoming film that follows abandoned sisters who escape. The film, The Horse Whisperer, Johansson as a teen victim of an horrific crash. Her performance in Ghost World, 2001 as the rebellious teenager Rebecca was a further boost to her profile.
